With a collection in excess of 14,000 items, it is hoped that our Media Center has something for everyone. Housed in two adjoining rooms, a fiction room and a Dewey Decimal room, the collection is accessed by way of computer patron stations using the SPECTRUM catalog and circulation system. All classes visit the Media Center at least once a week for book exchange. Additionally, students can come to the library for book browsing, returning, and borrowing any time during the school day. We love drop in visitors! The media center is also available for individual student research, whole-class research, and special events at almost any time during the school day. Kindergarten and First grade students enjoy a story time during their weekly book exchange visit to the library. Library skill lessons are taught to grades 2 through 5 at various times throughout the year and are designed to enhance and enrich the classroom learning experience. Using our flexible library schedule program, the librarian and the classroom teacher work together to schedule library lessons at times when the information learned in the library will be most relevant and useful to students in the classroom.
