National Parks Research Web Quest
http://www.us-national-parks.net/ Using the above site and the World Book on Line (located on your computer desktop) you will complete a handout and discover various facts about the national park you have chosen. We will also use the internet to find out more about the various parks.
Your first task will be to set up your Slides. The template is on the S drive 1. First add in all your slides and add a background using the design templates. Seven (7) slides 2. Add all your titles in Caps. Below are the slides you will need. Slide One- Title slide should include name of your park, and your name and a slogan inviting people to visit, Slide Two- Location-- indicate what state your park is located in and a .small picture of a map of your National Park (copy and paste from the Internet) Slide Three- History of Park--- when was it established and by whom (if you know) Slide Four- Sights to See (use the travel information you gathered) Slide Five- Important landforms or animals and plants Slide Six- Environmental Concerns (if you have any) if not, make it the Animal/Plant slide Slide Seven- Interesting Facts and add more photos
Be sure to save often and spell check at the end. Add pictures where you think they will work best. Find a map of your park for slide two and copy and paste it into your presentation. In the search bar type in the name of your national park (example Acadia National Park Map)

Great job! You are now ready for step 3. (Read all the directions before beginning!!) You will be creating a postcard to send to a friend telling them about the wonderful sites you saw while on your trip to your National Park. 1. First find a picture (Image) you want to use for the front of your postcard. Click here for pictures, Pictures of National Parks When you find a picture you like, click and open the picture, copy and paste it to the Postcard template located in the “S” drive under the folder named National Park Research—postcard photo template then print it out using the "color printer”. 2. Then continue filling in the postcard planning sheet. For the mailing address: Choose a friend's name but use the school's address below.
